OLG Issues Second Quarter Gaming Revenue Payment to Ottawa

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is pleased to make a second quarter (July 1 – September 30) payment totaling $2,178,859 to the City of Ottawa for hosting Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa.

So far, during OLG’s fiscal year (April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027), Ottawa has received $4,914,059. Since the gaming site opened in February 2000, Ottawa has received $121,659,007.

These payments to host communities are based on a formula in the Municipality Contribution Agreement that is consistently applied across all land-based casino sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.

“The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa is creating new opportunities for residents in Carleton and across Ottawa, supporting local jobs, tourism, and economic growth,” said George Darouze, Member of Provincial Parliament for Carleton. “Through OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement, revenue generated locally helps strengthen Ottawa’s communities and invest in priorities that matter to families.”

Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2.4 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.

OLG is proud to share proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic development including infrastructure and job creation. Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s commitment to Ontario, which includes reinvesting 100 per cent of OLG’s profits back into the province.

Over the past ten years, service providers have invested more than $3 billion in private sector capital investment across the province. These investments have led to the development and opening of seven new casinos, two large-scale resort developments and expansions, many gaming floor expansions and new non-gaming amenities.

OLG is where gaming entertainment drives benefits beyond the game. As an Ontario Crown Agency, OLG offers casino, lottery, digital and charitable gaming to millions of players - with a commitment to safe and responsible play at the heart of everything it does. Since 1975, its operations have generated approximately $64 billion to fund key provincial priorities, while creating significant economic benefits for casino host communities, Ontario First Nations, lottery retailers, local charities and the horse racing sector.
