Hard Rock Cafe will host En Vivo special edition 'Privados' featuring Oro Sólido at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa on Thursday, December 3 at 9 p.m. Guests will enjoy an evening of live Merengue beats.

Formed in New York City in 1995, merengue group Oro Sólido is led by Raúl Acosta, widely known as “El Presidente del Merengue” (“The President of Merengue”). From its earliest days, the group quickly gained popularity among audiences in New York and throughout the Spanish-speaking world.

The group’s breakout hit, “Ta Cache,” launched it to fame, followed by songs such as “María se Fue,” “La Tanguita,” “El Beeper,” “La Paleta” and “La Nalgadita.” These infectious tracks have kept generations of fans dancing and remain popular today. Through appearances on English-language television and airplay on English-language radio, the group has expanded its reach beyond Spanish-speaking audiences. Over the years, Acosta has earned numerous award nominations and wins, including recognition from the Estrella Awards, ACE Awards and Premio Lo Nuestro.

Oro Sólido was also the first merengue band to appear on Fox 5 News New York and the Jerry Lewis Telethon. The group also performed at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., as part of President George W. Bush’s second inauguration festivities.

The group has performed five times at Madison Square Garden, as well as at other renowned venues, including the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, Mexico City’s Zócalo, Estadio Modelo in Ecuador, El Monumento in the Dominican Republic and the Meadowlands in New Jersey. Raúl Acosta & Oro Sólido have shared the stage with artists including 50 Cent, LeAnn Rimes, Celia Cruz, Marc Anthony, Fat Joe, Johnny Ventura, Wilfrido Vargas, Tito Puente, El Gran Combo and The Temptations.

Raúl Acosta & Oro Sólido are currently celebrating their 30th anniversary and are launching a tour across the United States, Central America, South America and Europe.
