Hard Rock & Seminole Gaming’s Commitment to Responsible Gambling

Promoting safe, informed, and responsible play for all guests.

Hard Rock & Seminole Gaming recognize that while most of our guests enjoy gambling safely, some may struggle to manage their behavior and experience harm. Our team members work to provide the resources, education, and support necessary to promote healthy play habits and assist those in need.

We integrate this support for guests into our daily operations through a robust, evidence-informed program.

Player Education & Resources

We use a segmented education strategy to meet the needs of all players—from new and casual guests to experienced regulars—with the aim of encouraging informed decision-making.

Promoting Healthy Habits:

We educate players on core concepts, including game facts, setting limits, managing their behavior, and recognizing the potential risks of gambling.

On-Site Assistance:

We prominently display resources and materials throughout our casinos, including toll-free helpline numbers and information on problem gambling counseling services.

Team Member Engagement:

We empower our guest-facing Team Members to proactively provide information and support when they observe or suspect a guest may be struggling.

Team Member Training & Culture

Mandatory, ongoing training helps to create a culture that integrates responsible gambling into our approach to customer care. This program was designed and delivered in collaboration with experts in problem gambling prevention and treatment.

Frontline Fundamentals:

A 30-minute online module that equips all guest-facing staff with the basics of identifying signs of problematic behavior, understanding player risk, and knowing when to escalate a situation to management.

Supervisor Support:

A 2-hour classroom training that builds on the fundamentals with interactive learning and role-playing scenarios. Managers and Supervisors are trained on conducting ‘difficult conversations’ with guests, emphasizing care, empathy, and positive outcomes.

Continuous Improvement:

Dedicated Responsible Gaming Leads and Teams at each casino coordinate action plans, conduct regular training refreshers, and continuously assess the program's success using key metrics.

Self Exclusion: Taking Control

For guests who feel they are losing control of their gambling, we offer a voluntary Self-Exclusion Program. This provides individuals with the legal means to exclude themselves from gaming activities at our casinos for a defined period.

Program Procedures:

  • Voluntary & Confidential: The decision to self-exclude is a confidential and voluntary act initiated by the individual.
  • Enrollment: Guests follow procedures set by each gaming jurisdiction, and typically enroll by visiting a designated location at a Hard Rock or Seminole Gaming casino (such as the Security or other designated office) and present valid, government-issued photo identification to verify their identity.
  • Binding Commitment: The individual chooses a self-exclusion term established by each jurisdiction (e.g., some states offer 1 year, 5 years, or lifetime) and signs a document acknowledging the terms. For more details, see the link for your state's self-exclusion program.

Responsible Marketing & Advertising

Our marketing and advertising practices are guided by a dedication to social responsibility and fully comply with the standards outlined by the American Gaming Association’s Codes for Responsible Gambling.

We commit to the following principles in all media:

  • Protecting Vulnerable Populations: We strictly prohibit advertising and marketing that is designed to appeal to, or feature, individuals below the legal gambling age (21+, unless otherwise noted). We do not target and eliminate marketing to self-excluded individuals.
  • Accurate and Responsible Messaging: Our advertisements will always reflect generally accepted standards of good taste and will never contain claims or representations that gambling will guarantee an individual's financial, social, or personal success. Gambling is positioned as entertainment, not a source of income.
  • Mandatory Resources: All gaming-related print, direct mail, television, radio, and digital advertisements include a conspicuous Responsible Gaming message and/or a toll-free problem gambling helpline number where practical.
  • Transparency: Promotional claims are clear, honest, and strictly comply with all state and federal standards, making no false or misleading claims about the probabilities of winning or losing.

Research & Community Collaboration

We believe in supporting the future of Responsible Gaming through science and partnership.

  • Investing in Research: We partner with organizations like the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG), a non-profit organization that supports scientific research on gambling disorders. Through contributions to the ICRG’s Sports Wagering Research Fund, we help develop evidence-based public health strategies.
  • Active Partnership: We collaborate with regulators, treatment providers, and recovery agencies across various jurisdictions. We are active members and sponsors of key organizations, including the National Council on Problem Gambling (Gold Member) and various regional prevention networks, demonstrating our commitment to addressing problem gambling in the communities we serve.
