Theory of a Deadman

Theory of a Deadman is a Canadian rock band formed in 1999 in North Delta, British Columbia. Known for their signature blend of post-grunge, hard rock, alternative rock, and pop rock, the band has also incorporated country and acoustic influences into their evolving sound.

Theory has achieved significant success on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, earning twelve Top 10 singles, including four No. 1 hits: “Bad Girlfriend,” “Lowlife,” “Rx (Medicate),” and “History of Violence.”

Renowned for balancing hard-hitting rock anthems with melodic, radio-friendly hooks, the band continued to expand its sound with the chart-topping single “History of Violence” from their 2020 album Say Nothing. In 2023, Theory returned to the energetic alternative rock and post-grunge style that first defined their career with the release of Dinosaur, produced by Martin Terefe.
