OLG issues first quarter gaming revenue payment to Ottawa

OLG

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is pleased to make a first quarter (April 1 – June 30) payment totaling $2,735,200 to the City of Ottawa for hosting Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa.

Since the gaming site opened in February 2000, Ottawa has received $119,480,148.

These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.

“Revenues from OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement help allow Ottawa to invest in infrastructure and provide funding for critical community services,” said George Darouze, Member of Provincial Parliament for Carleton. “Provincial revenues from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa help to improve the quality of life for families across Carleton and across the City of Ottawa.”

Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2.4 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.

OLG is proud to share proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic development including infrastructure and job creation. Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s commitment to Ontario, which includes reinvesting 100 per cent of OLG’s profits back into the province.

Over the past ten years, service providers have invested more than $3 billion in private sector capital investment across the province. These investments have led to the development and opening of seven new casinos, two large-scale resort developments and expansions, many gaming floor expansions and new non-gaming amenities.
