Smoke-free slot machine and table game count to more than double upon completion

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa today announced plans to significantly expand its smoke-free offerings as part of the property’s ongoing commitment to guest satisfaction. Smoke-free gaming areas will expand to include over 40 percent of the total number of slot machines available at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa.

Scheduled to debut before the end of 2026, the experience will more than double the property’s smoke-free slot machines and table games while introducing additional smoke-free areas throughout the resort and casino. The enhancement follows continued guest feedback and reflects the property’s focus on delivering exceptional entertainment experiences for all visitors, including the ongoing availability of designated smoking areas for guests who want to smoke.

Locations transitioning to smoke-free environments include portions of the casino floor stretching from the Elvis Piano display to the Cipresso restaurant, along with the hotel lobby and L Bar. The transition includes replacement of all carpet, chairs, gaming table felts and ceiling treatments. Slot machines, walls and other equipment will undergo deep cleaning.

Existing smoke-free venues and amenities throughout the property will remain unchanged, including all restaurants, the Draper Room, Rock Spa & Salon, Hard Rock Event Center and the Mezzanine Casino.

To accommodate construction and maintain uninterrupted gaming operations, Hard Rock Event Center will temporarily transform into a casino space featuring state-of-the-art slot machines offered during the renovation process.

Construction on the temporary gaming area inside Hard Rock Event Center is expected to begin in August 2026, followed by broader casino floor renovations beginning in October. All resort amenities, restaurants and gaming operations will remain open throughout the construction.

The smoke-free expansion follows the property’s $65 million resort enhancement project completed in 2025, which included the reopening of Fresh Harvest Buffet, renovations to 240 hotel rooms and the addition of nearly 350 new slot machines.
