COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (September 22, 2022) – Seminole Casino Coconut Creek has been named the Community Impact Business of the Year by the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The Community Impact Business of the Year award honors a Chamber member business who demonstrates an overall spirit of giving through contributions of time, leadership and resources through volunteer, philanthropic and financial engagement.

The casino will be honored at the Chamber’s annual gala on Thursday, October 20, at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott in Coral Springs.

Their philanthropic engagement provides support to nonprofits throughout the year through contributions to local schools, nonprofits, and other organizations, as well as food drives and volunteering for many local events. Seminole Casino Coconut Creek has supported over 90 charities thus far in 2022 and totaled more than $450,000 in donations (including cash and in kind donations). Most recently, Coco teamed with Irreverent Warriors, a military veterans organization, to raise more than $35,000 following a charity poker tournament.

Next month, Seminole Casino Coconut Creek will partner with other Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock properties for the annual Pinktober campaign to help raise awareness about breast cancer. The campaign will include numerous on-site and off-site fundraising efforts benefitting the American Cancer Society.

“Clearly, the pandemic put charities under more pressure than ever before,” added Buck. “To that end, we are happy to help in any way that we can. It’s all about giving back.”
