Founded in Hannover, West Germany, in 1965, Scorpions were part of the first wave of metal in the ‘70s and released their debut album, “Lonesome Crow,” in 1972. The band rose to arena status with seminal releases, “Lovedrive,” “Virgin Killer” and “Animal Magnetism.” In the ‘80s, Scorpions amassed a string of Billboard chart toppers from “Love at First Sting” to “Blackout,” multiple Top 10 singles including “Rock You Like a Hurricane” and “No One Like You,” and other successful singles such as “Send Me an Angel,” “Still Loving You” and “Wind of Change.”
Scorpions were ranked No. 46 on VH1’s Greatest Artists of Hard Rock, and “Rock You Like a Hurricane” ranked No. 18 on VH1’s list of the 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs. In 2015, Scorpions released their 19th studio album, “Return To Forever,” and celebrated their 50th anniversary. In November 2017, the band released the compilation album, “Born to Touch Your Feelings (Best of the Rock Ballads)” via Sony Music, which included two new songs “Melrose Avenue” and “Always Be With You,” as well as an acoustic version of “Send Me an Angel.”
Queensrÿche burst onto the music scene in 1982 with the release of their self-titled EP “Queensrÿche.” The group quickly garnered international recognition and performed to sold-out audiences around the world. With the release of their first full-length album “The Warning” in 1984 and 1986’s “Rage For Order,” Queensrÿche continued to prove their worldwide dominance as one of the most respected and creative bands of the ‘80s. In 1988, the band turned out yet another monumental album, “Operation: Mindcrime,” which would go on to become one of the top 10 best-selling concept records of all time and set the stage for more sold-out performances around the world.
