Frank Calvagna

Frank Calvagna is an award winning guitarist that performs Contemporary Instrumental Spanish Guitar music in a style best described as jazz inspired, Nuevo Flamenco. His compositions and virtuosity have been compared to artists such as Jesse Cooke and Ottmar Leibert. Backed by percussionist, guitarist and/or a bassist, he regularly performs hundreds of shows annually from duo to quartet format. Performances include festivals, clubs, cafes, and wine tastings throughout the Midwest.

Frank’s latest CD “Moliendo Café” is a live studio recording that features the original tune, “Ginger”. This tune has been adopted by the Capital Region of Denmark as a theme to an internationally distributed documentary about the Danish Health Care System. Additionally, Frank’s original music can be heard featured in IBM corporate promotional videos.
