Geo-n-Mik

Geo-N-Mik is an American acoustic power pop/rock duo that features the two nylon string guitarists George Harlow and Mike Coulahan from Rockford, Illinois. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses strong melodic counter rhythm guitar lines with harmonious vocals that accentuate the lyrics and mood of the tune.

George and Mike’s friendship goes back to the early 80’s when George was playing guitar and singing in the top Rockford power pop band The Blades as Mike was playing bass in local bands Dialtones and Darwin’s Wave. Their friendship reconnected in 2020 at a Rockford Area Music Industry Awards ceremony over their great passion for music. By chance, both players brought nylon string acoustic guitars to their first jam session and loved the way they sounded together. They decided the nylon string acoustic guitars provided the perfect backdrop to the power pop/rock songs that they played together. Each instrument can be recognized individually and accompanies George’s beautiful voice. Geo-N-Mik connect the listener through the lyrics into an experience that can be felt with the heart and soul. All songs utilize this musical instrumentation and feature songs popular to all and personal favorites of these two players. A wide variety of artists will be covered during each performance. Selections may cover anything from Paramore, Prince, Petty and Pretenders to Bowie, Beatles, and Clash. George may even surprise you with a Madonna or Shania Twain tune. Geo-N-Mik will have you moving in your seat, dancing in the aisle and singing along to all that is fun with music. Geo-N-Mik provide the musical backdrop that brings smiles to all ages.
