Mike Williamson started his singing career with Rosemary Lofgren's Proud Americans. His friends, The Lettermen, inspired him to begin a career in music and he has sung with them (The Lettermen) on stage many times. As Producer/Performer, Williamson has released 14 record albums including his new "Now You're Here" CD which contains original songs that he wrote with Keyboardist/Composer Bruce L. Warden. Mike and Bruce won a RAMI (Rockford Area Music Industry) Award for Composers Of The Year in 2015 for "Now You're Here".
Williamson has entertained at many venues including The State Department (Washington, D.C.), Bartke's Dinner Theater (Tampa, Florida), Drury Lane Oakbrook (Chicago), Scottish Rites' in Madison, WI, Indianapolis, Freeport, IL and Casino Queen (St. Louis). His music shows are performed for many tour groups coming through Northern Illinois.
In 2015, Williamson also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rockford Area Music Industry (RAMI). He's also won the RAMI for "Best Cabaret/Broadway" four times in a row with his band Mike Williamson and Company.
The prestigious Margaret Sheldon Award was presented to Mike by The American Cancer Society for "Magic Monday", his benefit at the Rockford Metro Centre and at the Coronado Theater. "Magic Monday" ran for 16 consecutive years and was endorsed by Presidents Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush along with a host of Entertainment Celebrities that includes Jimmy Stewart, Johnny Mathis, Doris Day, Bob Hope, Amy Grant, Dame Cleo Laine, Kenny Rogers and Paul Anka.
Mike's radio program, "Mike Williamson & Friends", airs daily on WTPB, 99.3 FM in Rockford, IL and features music from many of his musical friends.
