I would like to introduce you to Dwayne Halliburton. When dj’n, I am known as the “The Hitman.”
Started as a 12 year old, playing a turntable and indexing cassettes… continuous transitions from wax to cassette. Listening to music 24 hours and catching tunes from my oldest siblings collections of music.
Growing up listening to Chicago’s radio stations; WBMX (Hot Miix 5,) WLS (Rock,) WXRT (New Wave,) and a British Band named the POLICE, expanded my growth and appreciation for all kinds of music.
As a teenager I was hoping to get a job at a record shop, as much as I spent my Saturday afternoons. There I began collecting wax (albums) and building up my catalog as a teenager.
Moved from house parties to high school sock hops…became official in the 90’s
Have entertained 10 to 1000’s from corporate events to largest class reunion dances in the City of Gary, from High School Proms, Fraternities and Sororities Dances, to Stepper Sets in Chicago/Gary.
I don’t have a web site because of repeated clients and simply my reputation. I don’t record for Facebook or any other social media.<minnesota pose.jpg>
I have learned since a teenager to diverse your portfolio, in music, and clientele. Funny, I was playing a 20 minute country set at a union picnic, when a club owner asked me to play at his bar. Reluctantly, I had to decline because I only had a few country songs in my crate. Since then, I have build my crates in country as well as other genres of music.
Just recently DJ Slash and I, jammed for the Great City of Gary Christmas Party. Appreciate any dj that will invite me into their space.
Over 35 years in the business. I have grown with the new genre of music but still love House and Old School Music. In addition, I love the 80’s punk and light rock music as well
