Brighton Bay Bowling, located in Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino, will begin hosting men’s and women’s bowling leagues in July.

The Women’s Tuesday Night Singles Bowling League starts on Tuesday, July 15, with the Men’s Wednesday Night Singles Bowling League beginning play on Wednesday, July 16.

The action will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday and will cover 12 weeks. Both leagues will have a minimum of 12 players and the cost for each league is $25 a week (which includes shoes), plus a $75 deposit. Each week $7 will go into the prize pool for both leagues, so the more players there are the bigger the payout.

The leagues will feature three games per week and include handicaps. Scores, standings and high scores will be posted weekly and there will be prizes for the top finishers.

Brighton Bay Bowling debuted following the grand opening of Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino last February. The bowling alley covers 7,044 square feet and features 10 lanes available to all guests.

The complex includes the first hotel to be built on the Brighton Seminole Reservation, featuring 100 guest rooms on four stories, totaling 72,000 square feet. Guest rooms include a mixture of rooms with either one king bed or two queen beds, plus three suites and a fitness center. The resort’s name salutes popular sportfishing sites of nearby Lake Okeechobee, where Fisheating Bay is a little more than two miles from the resort. Fisheating Bay and Fisheating Creek get their name from the Seminole name recorded on a military map of 1839, Thlothlopopka-Hatchee, translated as “the river where fish are eaten.”
