About Frankie Negrón
Frankie Negrón is known for his romantic vocals and his fusion of traditional salsa with pop, rock, gospel, hip-hop and reggaeton. Since bursting onto the music scene in 1997, he has scored several number one singles, four gold and platinum albums and nine Billboard Top 40 Latin tracks.
Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, in a Puerto Rican household, Frankie Negrón is known for several mega hits that include “Con Amor se Gana,” “Comerte a Besos,” and “Holding on to Love.” He is also an actor who played a supporting role in Paul Simon’s “The Capeman” on Broadway. In 2009, Negrón appeared in the American soap opera “One Life to Live” to perform music from his then upcoming album “Independence Day,” his first crossover into the English market. New York Times music critic Jon Pareles gave the album a favorable review and highlighted the CD in his Fall record release roundup.
More recently, Frankie Negrón served as a music consultant on Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story during the filming of the movie. Currently, the singer is preparing for the launch of his new single, which is expected to hit the market in January. The new song promises more of his signature style – combining romantic sensuality with hot salsa instrumentation
