You know it’s October when you see those colors everywhere. No, not fall foliage. And no, not black and orange for Halloween. We are talking pink, which has become the dominant October color as millions of people around the country do their part for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
BCAM was founded 35 years ago by the American Cancer Society to raise not just awareness, but money to help fight the disease that affects more than 250,000 women a year and 1 in 8 women in their lifetimes.
Of course, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City is going Pink in a big way with a Pinktober campaign that makes it easy to help the cause.
For starters, when you are driving into Atlantic City make sure you check out the Hard Rock’s exterior, which will be illuminated in pink. Once there, make sure you head to Hard Rock’s extraordinary flower wall boasting all pink flowers … a perfect opportunity for a photo opp!
Be stylish and wear your pink to the Hard Rock as most employees will wear everything from traditional pink ribbons – where the BCAM all started – to pink ties for the gentlemen and pink T-shirts, which the staff will wear on Thursdays throughout the month.
Here are some other easy ways you can get involved in Pinktober at Hard Rock Atlantic City:
Think Pink at the Rock Spa & Salon: The Hard Rock’s signature Rock Spa and Salon will feature two Pink-themed services, with a portion of proceeds going to BCAM. The Touch of Pink Express Manicure is 25 minutes of Pure Pink Heaven for just $40, where spa-goers will receive an express manicure with the option to add a Touch of Pink Breast Cancer Awareness nail decal. You can also choose the Pink Warrior Aromatherapy as a $10 add-on to any 50-minute spa service. It’s the best $10 you will spend all month as spa therapists add the Rock Spa’s custom warrior-blend essential oil designed to protect, defend and boost the immune system … perfect in these COVID times. And we saved the best for last: Guests receiving spa services will receive a complimentary glass of Pink Champagne upon service arrival.
Pinktober Goodies: Don’t be jealous when you see others walking around drinking cold cocktails from cool, pink Tervis cups. You can have your own as a special Pinktober cocktail can be purchased in pink Tervis cups – designed specifically for Pinktober – at the Council Oak Lounge, Hard Rock Café, Lobby Bar, Sportsbook Bar, Whammy Bar and Center Bar. The $10 Pink Lemon Drop Martini sounds just what the Pink Doctor ordered, and $1 from every martini sold goes to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. The Tervis cup can also be purchased without a drink at the Hard Rock Store and Rock Shop. And it gets even better: Those who purchase the Pink Martini will receive an exclusive pink bracelet from their bartender.
Not a drinker? No problem! Council Oak Fish will offer a Strawberry Shortcake Sundae with caramel popcorn, cornmeal shortcake and vanilla bean whip, while Kuro will serve a Triple Berry Japanese Cheesecake with pomegranate yogurt crunch, strawberry sponge cake and yuzu blackberry. Sugar Factory will get in on the pink-themed sugar rush with a Pink Milkshake, and the Flavor Tour will offer pink macaroons and other pastries, in which a portion of proceeds benefit Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
Pink Style: Pinktober also provides an opportunity to get stylish for a cause, and the Hard Rock’s Pinktober merchandise – available in the Hard Rock Store and Rock Shop – makes it easy with its Pinktober mask, bandana, T-shirts, baseball hat and a custom, limited-edition Pinktober pin that will have collectors lined up, with all proceeds benefiting Making Strides. Many of the exclusive items will display “BRAVE” with a pink ribbon accompanied by the Hard Rock Pinktober logo. You can also purchase at the online Rock Shop at www.Shop.HardRock.com.
Rock Pinktober: The Hard Rock brand would not allow Pinktober to go by without some music, and Hard Rock Atlantic City will unveil the Women Who Rock Pinktober Concert Series every Thursday in the Hard Rock Café with performers including Nancy Malcun, Patty & Bugzy, Lisa Bouchelle Duo and the Courtney Jansen Trio. Admission is free!
