American Cancer Society of Greater Philadelphia Area
The mission of the AMC is to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
The New Jersey Chapters are fueled by the mission to save lives by providing education and support to the Garden State. As part of AFSP’s growing nationwide network of chapter, AFSP brings together people from all backgrounds who want to prevent suicide in our communities. Family and friends who have lost someone to suicide, vulnerable individuals, mental health professionals, clergy, educators, students, community/business leaders and many others energize our chapter.
Atlantic City Police Foundation
The Atlantic City Police Foundation was established by current and former police officers as well as business and civic leaders as an independent, non-profit organization to improve the public safely in Atlantic City by assisting the City of Atlantic City and the Atlantic City Police Department in funding worthwhile police programs, initiatives, training and equipment that would otherwise not be feasible under the City budget.
Atlantic City Rescue Mission
The Atlantic City Rescue Mission is set apart by the Spirit of God to preach the Gospel and meet the physical, emotional and other basic needs (through the provision of shelter, clothing, food, counseling, referral and structured programs) of the poor and those who are bound and bruised by addictive lifestyles in Atlantic City and the surrounding communities.
African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey
The African American Heritage Museum Of Southern New Jersey brings to life the African American experience of the 20th Century as it documents the struggle of one group of Americans to carve their own place in the wider cultural landscape. With a permanent home in Atlantic City and a traveling museum with access to over 30,000 historical and cultural artifacts, the museum offers a unique opportunity to open a window to the mindset of successive generations of African Americans and provides an understanding to their cultural evolution.
The Arc of Atlantic County
The Arc of Atlantic County improves the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community. Through direct services, advocacy, education and prevention activities, they work in partnership with individuals and their families to make choices possible about how and where they live, learn, play and work. Their core values are respect, teamwork, integrity, great service, and community participation.
Avanzar
Formally the Women’s Center, Avanzar has evolved & expanded its services to include: a violence intervention program, a childcare network for resource & referral, a home to work program for displaced homemakers, and a women source training institute.
Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City
Founded in 1970, the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City is approaching its fiftieth year of making positive differences in the lives of the youth of Atlantic City.
Cancer Support Community New Jersey at Gilda's Club
CSCNJ uplifts and strengthens people impacted by cancer by providing support, fostering compassionate communities, and breaking down barriers to care. Offering a variety of cancer support groups, healthy lifestyle workshops, educational lectures and social activities for individuals living with cancer, their families and friends, you'll always find a caring, supportive community at Cancer Support Community New Jersey at Gilda's Club.
Community FoodBank of Southern New Jersey
The Community FoodBank of New Jersey, founded by Kathleen DiChiara in 1975, has grown from the back of a station wagon to a leading anti-hunger organization. With two warehouses, a fleet of trucks, and various wrap-around services, it now provides over 90 million meals annually and operates in Hillside and Egg Harbor Township.
Court Appointed Special Advocates
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of Atlantic, Cape May, and Camden Counties and its trained volunteers speak on behalf of abused and neglected children in the foster care system and are dedicated to ensuring these children are placed in safe permanent homes as quickly as possible.
Covenant House
Covenant House serves young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness or human trafficking with absolute respect and unconditional love. Their ultimate goal is to help each young person move on with their lives in positive ways with counseling, education, stable employment, and secure housing. Their local Atlantic City branch helps young people in our local community.
Friends Are by Your Side, Inc (Wigs & Wishes)
Wigs & Wishes By Martino Cartier is a network of salon owners, stylists and beauty industry experts joined together with one mission: to provide courageous women battling cancer with a wig at no cost, as well as granting wishes to children battling childhood cancer.
Garden State Equality
Garden State Equality lifts up the diverse voices of LGBTQ+ communities through education and advocacy to advance the movement for equality in New Jersey and nationally. They work tirelessly to ensure the communities we serve experience lived equality. Garden State Equality is the largest LGBTQ+ advocacy organization in New Jersey, with over 150,000 members. Established in 2004, they are now one of the most successful statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organizations in the nation.
Hansen Foundation
The Hansen Foundation embraces RECOVERY, for those who suffer from substance use disorders, their families and friends. The Hansen Foundation Residences, Serenity Estates and Serenity Houses, provide affordable, long-term, comfortable recovery residences and necessary recovery support to assist those in recovery facing overwhelming obstacles. In conjunction with the housing entity, The Hansen Foundation also operates Enlightened Farm, nonprofit organic farm cultivating a sustainable and healing environment for all, and The Hansen Foundation Resource Center offering a variety of programs to help individuals in recovery plan, create, invent, improve life skills and make things happen in their lives.
Heart of Surfing
Heart of Surfing is grassroots, local organization made up of incredible volunteers that believe everyone has the ability to participate and have fun. HOS’s mission is to create positive experiences for individuals with autism and/or other developmental disabilities through recreational activities. They offer surfing, skateboarding/scootering, roller skating, ice skating and more!
NAN Newark TechWorld
NAN Tech World offers Atlantic City's youth a development program roster that targets building workforce skills as well as job coaching, guiding them through behavior and mental health challenges. These programs promote positive outcomes by providing opportunities, fostering positive relationships, and giving the support that is needed to develop our youth's assets and prevent risky behaviors. Fortifying and empowering our youth with applicable life skill sets, will prove to be the foundation needed for future success.
HOPE Exists Foundation
The Atlantic County Hope One/Hope Exists Mobile Outreach Program address the urgent needs of individuals grappling with mental health and addiction issues. This unique mobile social service initiative offers free resources and facilitates access to treatment services through daily community outreach and a dedicated hotline, aiming to support individuals, families, and the community at large in combating these challenges.
Jewish Family Services
Jewish Family Service of Atlantic & Cape May Counties (JFS) encourages strong families, thriving children, healthy adults, energized seniors and vital communities. With dozens of program areas, JFS specializes in counseling, mental health services, homeless programs, vocational services, adult and older adult services and also hosts an on-site food pantry. The agency impacts 13,000 lives throughout Atlantic and Cape May Counties each year.
